Glass Repair & Window Service in Flagstaff
Service Details
Our repair jobs help maintain your visibility, prevent structural weakening of the glass, and saves the expense of having to replace your entire windshield or window.
Choosing a repair over a replacement is an easy and economical way to help protect your vehicle from additional damage caused by vibration from driving, extreme temperature changes, and everyday driving.
What Can Be Repaired vs What Requires Replacement
If the damage is small and shallow, we can more often than not make the repair. Generally speaking, chips, star breaks, and short cracks up to eight inches (or about the length of a dollar bill) can be repaired, as long as they have not spread significantly through the glass.
A window typically requires replacement if the crack extends beyond eight inches, has reached the edges of the window, affects the driver’s visibility, or if the structural integrity of the glass or window frame has been compromised (as it often will the larger the crack is).
Common Causes of Auto Glass Damage
Watch out for:
- Small rocks kicked up by other vehicles
- Loose gravel on highways or construction zones
- Sudden temperature shifts
- Hail impacts
- Road vibration that worsens minor flaws
- Striking potholes or speed bumps
- Debris falling from trucks
- Pressure changes from slamming doors
- Tree sap or small debris hardening on glass
- Minor impacts during parking or low speed movement
Safety Considerations During Repair
Repairs at Inspector’s allow the original factory seal to remain intact, preserve airbag support, and keep the vehicle’s visibility as clear as possible so the vehicle is safe to drive.
Types of Damage We Repair
- Small chips from stones;
- Cracks from extreme heat or impact;
- Bullseye fractures that appear as circular patterns;
- Star fractures that appear as spreading lines; and
- A combination of damage involving more than one type.
Inspector’s technician’s approach to repairs is based on how deep the damage is, how expansive it is, and where it is located on the windshield to achieve the greatest clarity and safety.
How Long Do Auto Glass Repairs Take?
Since repairs are designed to be completed quickly and without affecting the existing seal or frame, many customers choose to have their windshield repaired as soon as they notice any damage, instead of waiting for the damage to grow.
Mobile Auto Glass Repair Services
Our mobile services are convenient, reduce the amount of time you are without your vehicle, and allow for the repair of minor damage before it becomes worse.
Our Auto Glass Repair Process
If you do not address and repair small damage, such as chips, in a timely manner, even a minor impact can create a larger spidering-webbing crack.
Here’s what Inspector’s process entails:
- At Inspector’s, a trained technician inspects the damaged area to ensure repair is the best option.
- The technician then cleans the damaged area – vacuums out any loose debris.
- He fills the chip or crack with a clear resin that bonds the glass back together.
- After the resin cures under a UV light source, your technician polishes the windshield glass back to its original strength and clarity, leaving a smooth finish.
Insurance & Repair Coverage
Typically, filing a claim for a repair will not raise your premiums. Inspector’s employees will assist you with filing the claim and help you understand what your insurance policy covers so you can navigate the process with minimal stress.
Aftercare Tips to Protect Your Repair
If taken care of correctly, the repaired glass will continue to be as strong and stable as it once was, which will help protect it from further damage.

How long will it take to replace my broken windshield and how long do I have to wait to drive after my new windshield is installed?
It takes 1-2 hours to replace a windshield or most any other piece of auto glass. In most cases, we use adhesives that allow you to drive your vehicle shortly after installation, some may require a maximum one hour wait. We will let you know if there is a wait time for your vehicle.
What kind of glass do you use?
We use high quality auto glass from world wide manufacturers such as Pilkington and Mygrant. Factory glass (a.k.a OEM glass) is also available. Our low price auto glass installation and repairs is no reflection of the quality of glass we source.
Do I need an appointment?
Often we can accommodate you with same day windshield crack repair service, but an appointment is necessary.
How much does a new windshield cost?
Most common windshields are $200 and up. Some harder to find glasses are a bit more. Please call for a custom car window repair quote or if you have insurance a quote is not required, simply call to make your appointment and to set up your claim. Typically your insurance will pay a portion of the cost to replace your Cool Blue Windshield Film. If you pay “out of pocket” for your next windshield with us, we will re-apply Cool Blue film to your new windshield for $74.95.
Can you repair my windshield instead of replacing it?
Most chips, stars, and cracks up to about 8 inches can be repaired.
Will my insurance rates go up if I make a claim on my cracked windshield?
