Arizona in the winter can get frigid. Temperatures fall to about 64°F (18°C), but also drop to around 32°F at night. The higher elevations, like Flagstaff, Arizona, consistently see 0°C and lower during the winter months of December, January, and February.

That means your car needs to be protected from the harsh winter elements, and what better way to equip it, than with the best vehicle accessories made for the weather?

We’re stoked to share our favorite winter vehicle accessories this season with you below.

After submitting the make, model, and submodel, you can start with vehicle interior accessories. Choose what colors, materials, and features you want on the inside. This can include extras like floor liners, seat liners, and a remote start.

Then, you can move on to the vehicle exterior accessories, which include extras like racks, windshield covers, and bed liners.

When finished, print/save your dream vehicle build (or several variations) before deciding on something concrete. Bring your ideas to our technicians, and we can start on exactly what you need to winterize a vehicle today.

What Different Types of Winter Vehicle Accessories Are Available?

Maximize your ride’s amenities, while keeping it safe and protected from the elements.

Benefits from winterizing your vehicle right now, include:

Preparedness

Always be ready for any type of trip. Additional storage can help keep your car’s interior free of gear while allowing you to easily transport items.

Convenience

Rather than waiting outside in the cold, you can use your vehicle’s winter accessories to start the car and have it ready to go before you even get in.

Increase the Resale Value

When you add certain accessories to your vehicle, it increases the resale price. There are many things you can do to not only winterize your car but add value.

Here are our favorite 2022 winter vehicle accessories:

1. Weather Proof Floor Liners

Installing premium, weatherproof floor liners (i.e. WeatherTech) helps to maintain a stain-free interior and protects from mud, snow, ice, and other winter elements. Too much moisture on your vehicle’s floors can provoke corrosion underneath the carpet. Weatherproof floor liners prevent that from happening and increase the resale value of your vehicle.

2. Truck Bed Cover

A truck bed cover (also called a tonneau cover) is a hard or soft cover that spans the back of a pickup truck to protect the load and improve aerodynamics. We love the premium retractable truck bed covers from Retrax. This accessory comes in many styles that can retract, fold, or tilt open, and can be locked shut. Also, they retract without joints, hinges, or moving mechanisms that can trap dust, wear out, or freeze creating a maintenance free truck bed cover.

3. Truck Bed Liner

Truck bed liners are perfect for winterizing your vehicle as they keep cargo from slipping and sliding around. These liners are made from skid-proof surfaces that act as shock absorbers and reduce vibrations that could easily damage your cargo.

There are various types of liners, from spray-on to drop-in, depending on what suits your budget and needs. We love truck bed liners from LINE-X as well as carpeted mats from BedRug.

4. Racks

Whether it’s skiing, snowboarding, tubing, or other winter sports, your vehicle needs a way to get your equipment to the site. In this case, installing a rack is a necessity.

Racks are perfect off-road vehicle accessories too. They allow you to house gear outside of the cabin, allowing more interior space for people and pets. A hard storage box can also be affixed to the back or roof of the vehicle. Let us know what you’re looking for and we’ll help you find and install the perfect rack for your vehicle.

5. Mud Flaps

As the name implies, mud flaps are designed to catch the dirt and mud kicked up from the road. This keeps it from landing on your vehicle, protecting the paint and body. We love the products from WeatherTech.

Mudflaps guard against dings, scratches, and corrosion from ice and salt used on the roads during winter.

6. Winter Front & Bug Screen

Winter fronts and bug deflectors are made to provide benefits in all seasons. Created from all-weather, heavy-duty quilted vinyl, winter fronts promote better fuel economy. We recommend the bug deflectors and tape on lane guards from AVS.

A bug screen is usually constructed from aluminum, steel, plastic, vinyl, and fiberglass. Both accessories aid in providing faster engine warm-up and interior heat.

7. Windshield Cover

If you don’t want to be bothered by clearing ice and snow from your vehicle, there’s a simple solution—a windshield cover. This acts as a blanket for your vehicle and traps the heat, keeping your windshield free of frost and fog. They’re usually constructed of polyester or PVC and come in several different styles.
